Autographs

Often times autographs become a problem when held in conjunction with an author’s visit.  Problems such as: we have a tight schedule, there are lots of books to autograph, the books did not arrive in time, orders were not made before the visit, orders are still coming in from the students, etc..

To help alleviate some of these concerns, I am happy to autograph pre-ordered books.  If you have sold over 100 books, I will be happy to autograph the books at the hotel the night before the presentation. This arrangement can be made at the time of the visit.

If students did not buy a book but have brought a special autograph book with them, I will be happy to sign this after the formal book-signing is complete. I do not sign articles of clothing, parts of children’s bodies or scraps of paper, as I know the scraps of papers will be found discarded in the school yard the next day and the others might possibly get the student in trouble at home.

If you have students that you know will be interested in an autograph, I have enclosed in this packet a sheet of reproducible bookmarks that can be printed at the school on card stock and cut-out for each student.  The bookmarks read “Readers make leaders!” with an autograph.  I encourage each teacher to give these to the students so they do not feel disappointed or left out if they did not purchase a book.

For books ordered or purchased after my visit, please send me a list of the children’s names by email and I will personalize bookplates for the front of their books.  Please include the name of the student in the email, the name of your school, a contact person to send the bookplates to,  and the school address.
